Philippine President Noynoy Aquino on September 12 signed Republic Act 10175, otherwise known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
according to Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte, among the punishable acts under the new law are offenses against the confidentiality, integrity and availability of computer data system, illegal access, illegal interception, data interference, system interference and misuse of devices. also included are computer-related offenses such as computer-related forgery, fraud, identity theft, content-related offenses like cybersex and child pornography, unsolicited commercial communications or cyber squatting.
