Trans-Eurasia Information Network (TEIN3) provides a dedicated high-capacity internet network for research and education communities (global collaboration) across the asia-pacific. currently connecting 11 countries, it provides direct connectivity to europe and other parts of the world.
so what’s in it for us IT PINOYs? TEIN3 aims to:
act as a catalyst for the research and development – we get to participate to research on radio-astronomy, grid computing, climatology, crop research etc.
better connectivity for education – we’ll learn more!
transfer project management to Asian ownership – we’ll soon be bosses!
improved intra-regional connectivity – allows up to 2Gbps, that’s 30 Hi-Def movie downloads per minute! need i say more? 😉
